Are you in need of some help with your food? Do you know of someone that needs help with food?
Hope Mobile Food Bank of South Jersey and the Outreach Ministry of Second Baptist Church is here to help you to put food on your table.
Everyone you know is going through some kind of problem and God looked down on Second Baptist and looked to us to help people in their time of need. What do we do? We open our doors to be a drop off for food to the community. There is a tractor and trailer that comes to the church around 10:00 am every second Saturday in the month and drops off the food for the people that has signed up ahead of time on or before that day. You can receive your food starting around 11:00 through 1:00 pm.
Anyone that wants food for that day wait in a line for their time to collect their food. We have service over 200 people in a day. We started with 99 people in March of 2011, since that time we have received around 217 people in July. As you can see the numbers have grown and people are in need of help. It does not make a difference the of all race, creed or color we are all God’s children and He said to “Feed my Sheep”. I am the director but no one can do a job by themselves. So with the members of Outreach Ministry and the many volunteers that ask “what would you like for me to do” the food bank has been a success. “All things are possible with God”. With our pastor’s help we have received grant money so the tents, dollies and carts have been brought with the money we have received. We thank God for sending Sister Bert Dowe to Rev Dorn and in turn Rev Dorn reached out to Outreach Ministries for we can be a blessing and also a witness to someone in need and letting God’s light shine through us.
If you need more information about the food bank you can call Cleo Johnson at 609-680-8272.
Thanks again to all of the volunteers because it could not have been done without you. If you would like to volunteer just ask.
God’s Blessings
Sister Cleo Johnson
